Wall street and Lombard Street: the stock Exchange Slump of 1929 and the Trade Depression of 1930

Francis W. Hirst

Publisher: MacMillan Company, New York

1931, A nice first edition published by The Macmillan Company, 1931 [April 1931].

Book is in Good condition with maroon boards and gold lettering on front and spine. Published by The Macmillan Company, New York, this 5.25" x 7.5" book has 180 pages.

One the most Influential Economic book of the 20th Century. Extremely rare first edition, first printing, of Hirst seminal work. Economics & Finances.

"Hirst believes that the world depression was precipitated by the Wall Street break, and presents a more than plausible analysis to support this conclusion" I always find it very interesting to read finance and economic literature after a great upheaval in the markets. This is one of those classics.

Francis Wrigley Hirst (10 June 1873 - 22 February 1953) was a British journalist, writer and editor of The Economist magazine. He was a Liberal in party terms and a classical liberal in ideology.
